Big things tipped for Green
Following a self confessed slow start to the year, Ally Green is close to peak form for Manly United.
It is great news for her teammates and coach Chris Williams, who all know the qualities the dynamic left back offers.
“I had an injury (adductor) in pre-season, so it took me a while to get going,” Green said.
“The past few games I’ve been happy with how I’ve played, I just need to keep working on my game.”
Big things are tipped for Green long term on the football pitch.
After finishing her HSC last year, the 18-year-old toured the United Kingdom with the Australian Schoolgirls squad, who were undefeated.
The Curl Curl junior heads into a Young Matildas Camp next Tuesday, and is also targeting a W-League contract over summer.
“I know the new Sydney FC coach (Ante Juric), so fingers crossed,” Green said.
“He has seen me play a few times, he knows what I can do.”
Green is pumped to perform for Manly United the next few months, and is also looking forward to playing Illawarra Stingrays on Sunday at Cromer Park.
“They are a good side, very physical,” she said.
“I’m sure I’ll be busy all game, that’s fine by me.”
