Women’s home game postponed
Manly United’s ladies also won’t be in action this weekend – due to a Young Matildas training camp in Canberra.
Teenage striker Remy Siemsen was going to be sole Manly player to sit out Sunday’s home game – only to see Sydney University coach Heather Garriock request with Football NSW the game be replayed at a later date, which was granted.
“We were ready to go, but it wasn’t to be,” Manly coach Chris Williams said.
“It gives a few of our fringe players the chance for some minutes in Reserve Grade (this Sunday) I guess.
“Sydney Uni had a few girls named for the Young Matildas, so I see the logic in the decision.
“We will now have an interesting end to the home and away season – three games in a week, with hopefully the semis to follow.”
United officially take on Sydney University at Cromer Park on Thursday, August 3.
