Manly United keen to silence Heyman and Northern Tigers
How do you try and contain a Matildas striker ?
Manly United forward Sophie Harding didn’t know herself, but was certain her teammates Bella Walker, Alice Wilson and Maddie Neville will arrive at North Turramurra on Sunday afternoon with a few ideas.
“Obviously she (Michelle Heyman) is a quality player, but I have no doubt the girls at the back can keep her quiet,” Harding said.
“We won’t just focus on her though, it will be a tough game.
“The (Northern) Tigers play with intent for the full 90 minutes, they keep coming at you.
“We also have the chance to show why we are leading the competition.”
After starting the season scoring goals for fun, Harding hasn’t found the back of the net in a few weeks.
The teenager is backing herself to break her duck on Sunday.
“The goals will come, I’m sure of that,” she said.
“I would love to play 90 minutes each week, but that is up to the coaching staff.
“All I can do is perform when opportunities fall my way in front of goal.”
Kick-off at the North Turramurra Recreational Area is 3pm.
