Menacing Minett the difference for Manly United
A hat-trick from Emily Minett saw Manly United beat Bankstown 3-1 on Sunday at Cromer Park.
Knowing the importance of starting well, Minett was on song early, scoring in the first 10 minutes to ease nerves on the sideline.
The 21-year-old grabbed a second before the break, and then capped off a brilliant individual performance with a third just before the final whistle.
“All the hard work I’ve been putting in has paid off,” Minett said.
“It was a positive team performance, everyone was committed.
“I’m enjoying my time in first grade, to score a hat-trick was amazing.”
United’s front three continue to impress, with Minett, Sophie Harding and Claudia Cholakian running riot at times on Sunday afternoon.
After 14 rounds, Manly are the competition pacesetters, ahead of Sydney University and Football NSW Institute.
