Weekend of leisure awaits for Manly United
MANLY United coach Chris Williams is adamant having no football this weekend won’t halt the momentum of his squad.
They were scheduled to play Football NSW Institute, but the fixture has been postponed until early August.
“I don’t see it as a bad thing, the girls who have niggles can rest up and then we will train hard next week in the lead up to the (Emerging) Jets game,” Williams said.
“It is a long season, sometimes a little break is just what teams need.
“To finish in the top five, we need ten points out of a possible 15, that is our main focus.”
United’s Reserve Grade women’s squad are in action, playing Football NSW Institute at Valentine Sports Park on Sunday afternoon.
They sit in third spot after 17 rounds.
Kick-off is 1.05pm.
