Manly United fall short against Football NSW Institute
MANLY United’s premiership difference is over following a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Football NSW Institute on Sunday afternoon.
In a performance coach Chris Williams described as “very disappointing”, a contentious penalty and an effort from long distance had United chasing the game.
Claudia Cholakian managed to peg one back, but it proved to be a consolation goal.
“When it mattered most, we were not at our best,” Williams said when reflecting on the elimination semi-final at Valentine Sports Park.
“We also weren’t clinical in the final third.
“As a coach, I will accept some responsibility, but the players should as well, they need to be accountable.”
United’s Reserve Grade squad lost on penalties to NWS Koalas, but have a second bite of the cherry this weekend against Blacktown Spartans.
