MUFC Profile: Hannah Peric
A QUICK phone call in the off-season was all it took for Hannah Peric to become a Manly United player.
The 18-year-old, who impressed in the heart of defence on debut against Macarthur, represented Football NSW Institute as a youngster.
After a couple of campaigns with North Shore Mariners, Peric decided Cromer Park would be her home in 2019.
“(Coach) Chris Williams reached out to me and it was a fairly easy decision,” she said.
“I was excited by his plans – Manly are a young team who play a positive brand of football,
“I’ve really enjoyed the move so far.”
On Sunday, Peric will line up against her old Mariners teammates.
She is still on contact with a number of players, and the banter in the lead up to kick-off has added to her motivation.
“We lost to them in a trial game a few weeks ago, so in the season proper a win would be nice,” Peric said.
“I’m definitely looking forward to the game.”
Peric is also targeting W-League opportunities down the track and feels she can take her game to new heights under Williams.
“It is definitely a goal of mine,” she said.
“I’m having a gap year after finishing my HSC, so football is a big focus.
“I know if I perform well for Manly, opportunities could present themselves.
“I guess we will see what happens.”
Peric and her Manly teammates take on the Mariners at Cook Park in Mt Pritchard this Sunday from 3pm with work not yet completed at Northbridge Oval.
