Manly United v North Shore Mariners Women’s Review
MANLY United coach Chris Williams has lauded the fighting spirit from his team after their 2-1 win over North Shore Mariners on Sunday.
The away side took a 1-0 lead into halftime, but Williams managed to galvanise his squad in the sheds.
Skipper Chloe O’Brien squared proceedings with a well taken goal, and the relief was then obvious around Cromer Park late on when Jess Wootton scored a late winner.
“I thought the girls were great collectively,” Williams said.
“The desire in our performance was there for everyone to see.
“We probably could have scored a few more goals, but we will take the (three) points and move on.”
The result was also significant for Manly United in the club championship as they fight off relegation fears.
