Manly United FC Reserve Grade ladies v NWS Koalas preliminary final review
MANLY United’s grand final dreams were dashed on Sunday, outclassed 2-0 by NWS Koalas at Jensen Park.
Tom Hopley’s squad were in the contest at halftime, only to cop two goals in the second half to officially end their 2019 campaign.
“I’m very proud of the girls, we played some great football this year,” Hopley said.
“We are a young team and I feel we improved on last season, which was a collective team goal.
“They were also a great bunch to work with, I have no doubt some of them will kick on and become very capable first graders.”
Meanwhile, United’s 18s boys saw their season cut short in cruel circumstances, beaten 7-6 by Sydney United 58 FC on penalties at the Sydney United Sports Centre in their elimination semi-final last Thursday night.
In better news, United’s will 14s girls take on Football NSW Institute in their grand final this weekend at Valentine Sports Park.
