Manly United chasing maiden win versus Marconi
Manly United attacking ace Brendan Cholakian insists his team are not collectively kicking stones ahead of Saturday night’s round four tussle against Marconi.
Starting their campaign with three defeats after winning the premiership in 2017 wasn’t part of the pre-season planning.
“I honestly believe our situation isn’t as bad as it looks,” Cholakian said.
“Everyone is rocking up to training with smiles on their faces, we just haven’t had that slice of luck all teams need.
“Morale is good, individual mistakes and switching off at key moments is killing us at the moment – but we can rectify it.”
Marconi are blessed with attacking talent and have already beaten premiership heavyweights Sydney United 58 FC following their off-season promotion.
“Their best asset is attack, but I believe we can target their defence,” Cholakian said.
“If we can go there and get a result, we then have the opportunity to go on a run – we showed in the second part of last season we are capable of doing that each week.”
Kick-off at Marconi Stadium is 7pm.
