Will Manly United Be Crowned Premiers?
This Sunday afternoon Manly United’s First Grade Men could be crowned 2022 NSW National Premier League Premiers as they take on Rockdale Ilinden at 3pm at Cromer Park in the final game of the season.
Currently sitting in third place Manly United are only two points behind competition leaders Blacktown City FC, meaning the silverware is still in reach.
With the whole competition kicking off at 3pm on Sunday, the title will be decided by 5pm Sunday.
Manly United enter the final round with 11 wins and are now looking for one more, the most important victory of the season.
With the top of the table still incredibly tight with first and fourth only separated by three points the competition will all come down to the final results on Sunday afternoon.
With competition leaders Blacktown City FC battling against second place Sydney Olympic FC this Sunday, the result of the game will determine the premiership.
As Manly United and Sydney Olympic sit equal on the ladder only separated by one goal, a victory from both teams is a must for Manly to claim the title. Goal difference means Manly needs to better Olympics’ result by two goals.
However, Rockdale Ilinden won’t make it easy as they will be fighting for a spot in the finals. Currently sitting in sixth spot a victory from the visitors could see them enter the top five.
A close game between the teams earlier in the season saw Manly United claim a 1-0 victory.
With a near perfect record of playing at Cromer Park, Manly United will be leaning on the home ground advantage and hoping the crowd of the Northern Beaches can cheer them to a premiership.
