Manly United defender Jasper Chipman has been selected in the CommBank Young Socceroos squad for the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ Qualifiers, marking another significant milestone in the young defender’s football journey.
Now in his second season with Manly’s First Grade side, Jasper has continued his rapid development after making his senior debut in 2025. A composed and dependable defender, he has progressed through every stage of the club’s pathway since joining Manly United as a nine-year-old, developing through the SAP (now JDL) and Boys Youth League programs before establishing himself as a key member of the senior squad.
His selection is made even more remarkable by the fact that Jasper is the only player selected from the National Premier Leagues, with the rest of the squad made up of players competing in the A-League and overseas professional leagues.
Fresh from helping Manly enjoy one of the strongest runs of form in the competition, Jasper will now head to Vientiane, Laos, where Australia will contest the qualifying tournament from 31 August to 6 September. The Young Socceroos will face Laos (31 August), Malaysia (3 September) and Indonesia (6 September) as they bid to secure qualification for the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™.
