Girls Development Squad (U9-U13)

What is the Girls Development Squad Program (GDEV)?

Manly United FC’s GDEV Program delivers Football Australia’s Skill Acquisition Phase Training (based on the National Curriculum), which is designed to equip players with the functional game (technical) skills required for this age and phase of development (U9-U13). Our GDEV program underpins the MUFC GJDL (Girls Junior Development League) squads. Players who are unsuccessful in earning a GJDL spot during trials are offered a position in the GDEV program. GDEV squads train alongside GJDL squads, with the same plan and parameters.

The GDEV program runs for 40 weeks from November to September. The players train two nights a week with Manly United FC. Additionally, players train once a week and play games with their local grassroots club in the MWFA competition. Players are not registered with Manly United.
