Young Avalon Footballers Inspired at Cromer Park

Avalon
There’s been a strong connection between Manly United and Avalon Soccer Club for many years. Last Friday evening, that relationship was again on display as a group of Avalon U12 girls visited Cromer Park for a special training session with Women’s and Girls Technical Director, Shaz Egger.

Facilitated by long-time women’s football supporter Wayne Brown of Brown Bros. Skip Bins, the annual session continues to play an important role in strengthening the pathway between grassroots football and the Manly United program.

The evening began with a FIFA warm-up led by Shaz alongside Strength & Conditioning coach Jadon, before the players took part in a series of energetic football activities, competitions and games.

With plenty of smiles, laughter and enthusiasm on display, the session once again highlighted the exciting future of the women’s game across the Northern Beaches.

Tonight at Cromer Park, as the Manly United Senior Women play NWS Spirit, those Avalon players and others like them will be able to see exactly what that pathway can look like.

First Grade players Ava Roberts and Ellie Kerr both began their football journeys at Avalon Soccer Club before progressing through the Manly United pathway and into the club’s First Grade program, providing a powerful example for the next generation of aspiring footballers.

Tonight’s game against NWS Spirit kicks off at 5.30pm for U23s and 7.30pm for First Grade.
