Manly United’s Senior Women have booked their place in the semi-finals of the 2026 Football NSW Sapphire Cup following a composed 2-0 victory over Western Sydney Wanderers on Wednesday night.
Goals from Brinley Gentle and Sienna Dale proved the difference as Manly continued their strong form across all competitions, controlling key moments of the quarter-final clash to secure their place in the final four.
Gentle’s goal adds to what has been an outstanding campaign for the attacking midfielder, with the strike taking her tally to eight goals in all competitions this season. One of the competition’s most influential players, she continues to deliver in key moments for Manly. Meanwhile, Dale’s strike was another positive moment for the talented attacker, who recently returned to Manly after spending time in the A-League system for Canberra United and has quickly made her presence felt since rejoining the squad.
For Manly, the victory is further reward for a group that continues to impress on multiple fronts this season as they pursue success in both league and cup competitions.
The result sets up a Sapphire Cup semi-final showdown with neighbours Northern Tigers – the fixture details yet to be confirmed.
Next up in the NPL, it’s 5th vs 6th as the Manly Senior Women face Sydney Uni SFC at Cromer Park on May 31. First Grade KO: 5pm.
