Manly United FC has booked its place in the Sapphire Cup Final for the first time since 2020 following a superb 2-0 semi-final victory over Northern Tigers on Wednesday night.
The visitors produced a composed and determined performance, with Ellie Kerr and Sienna Dale on target as Manly delivered one of its most important results of the season to reach the tournament final.
Facing a familiar NPL Women’s opponent, Manly rose to the occasion, combining disciplined defending with quality in the final third to claim a deserved victory and a coveted place in the decider.
The result marks a significant milestone for the club’s senior women’s program, rewarding the hard work of players and staff throughout an impressive cup campaign.
Congratulations to Tom Hopley, his coaching staff and the entire playing group on a fantastic achievement.
Attention will now turn to the Sapphire Cup Final on July 18 at Valentine Sports Park. For now, celebrations will go on hold as the team turns its attention to this weekend’s NPL Women’s fixture – also against Northern Tigers at North Turramurra – kicking off at 6.30pm.
