Manly United Head Coach Vladimir Knežević has called on the Northern Beaches football community to get behind his young side tonight as they take to Cromer Park for the final time this season.
The Senior Men head into the clash with NWS Spirit FC unbeaten in their past nine games – an impressive turnaround that has propelled Manly into sixth place and put finals football firmly within reach.
With just three rounds remaining, there is plenty riding on every result. A strong finish could not only secure a place in the NPL NSW finals series, but also keep Manly in contention to qualify for the Australian Championship.
For Vlado, however, the recent run is about more than results.
After enduring a difficult period earlier in the season that included five consecutive losses, he says the belief within the group never disappeared.
“The message to my players has always been the same – this is your year and your stage,” he said.
“They have worked incredibly hard for the past nine months to put themselves in this position.
“We believed in them when we lost five games in a row, and we believe in them now. They are creating their own memories and continuing to push the boundaries of what this young group can achieve.”
Rather than allowing that difficult period to define the season, Vlado believes it ultimately brought something more out of his players.
“There were people who saw us as candidates for relegation, but that became the moment that awakened our character and showed who we are,” he said.
Now, with Manly looking to make it 10 games unbeaten and everything still to play for, the focus turns to one final night at Cromer Park.
And Vlado has a simple message for the Manly faithful.
“Come down in numbers and get behind these young players,” he said.
“They have shown serious potential and quality this season, and having that support behind them can make a difference.”
With finals football on the line and the boys preparing for their final home appearance of 2026, there couldn’t be a better time to fill Cromer Park and get behind Manly.
