National Honour for Manly’s Erin Dunne

Manly United is sending its best wishes to GYL player Erin Dunne as she embarks on her first 2026 Australian School Girls tournament in Victoria this week.

After trialling for Sydney North Public Schools and being selected for the State Championships, Erin travelled to Newcastle for a week of football where her team reached the semi-finals. Her standout performances earned her selection to the NSW Public Schools team. A few weeks later, she competed in a series of matches at Valentine Sports Park against teams representing the public, private and Catholic school systems, resulting in selection for the Combined Schools NSW State team. Erin will now represent NSW at the School Sport Australia Under 18 Championships at La Trobe University in Melbourne.

Of course, Erin’s talent is already well known around the club and across the Northern Beaches. Formerly with CC Strikers, Erin joined the Manly United Girls Youth program at the age of 14 and is now playing with the U18s despite being just 16 years old. She has enjoyed an outstanding season, scoring freely, including two braces in recent weeks. Erin was also selected for the Football NSW Future Sapphires program earlier this year – another testament to her dedication, determination and footballing ability.

Congratulations to Erin on this latest achievement. We wish both Erin and her teammates every success at the tournament.
